Blogger’s Day Off

If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit. – Banksy

How do you like blogging so far? I’ve been blogging for more than a year now, and I really like it… no wait… I LOVE IT!

Although I must admit that there was a time when I almost gave up blogging. As a newbie blogger, I was having a hard time trying to juggle my full-time job, my life, and learning how to run a blog.

Here’s what my typical day (Mon – Fri) looks like:

5:30 am – 6:30 am Get up and get ready for work. Have a cup of coffee with a slice of toast and eggs. Squeeze in some Twitter and Instagram time.

7:00 am – 5:30 pm Work, Work, Work ( I’m an operating room nurse, so it’s usually a non-stop busy day).

6:00 pm – 10:00 pm Dinner with hubby. Blog for a few hours. Watch tv or catch up on my reading. A nice cup of chamomile tea before bed.

My schedule on weekends varies depending on if we need to attend social events or travel somewhere. If we have nothing planned, then I’ll be dedicating that precious time… blogging!

I’ll stay late until the wee hours of the morning. No wonder, after a few months, I was so tired, uninspired, and burned out. I’ve learned from that experience. So now, I step away from my blog if I feel the need to recharge.

Tanpopo Ramen

Last Saturday, I took a break from blogging. I had a stressful week, and I don’t have the energy to edit drafts or create a new post. I was craving for some ramen, so my hubby and I went to Tanpopo for lunch. We ordered a bowl of  Tonkatsu and Beef Stew Ramen. The piping hot noodle was soooo good… it helped melt my stress away!

Washington Park

My hubby and I both love photography. We went to Washington Park and spent the whole afternoon enjoying nature and taking photos of anything that inspired us.

El Loco Mexican Cafe

After strolling around the park, we went to  El Loco Mexican Cafe for dinner. We ordered this huge Burrito Grande that’s incredibly filling. To top off the evening, I had a refreshing drink of Piña Colada!

  1. I’ve made a concerted effort to go the gym on the weekends, but it is so hard to unplug. Learning when to put the laptop down and how to change up blog topics has been essentially to me.

    • Yup, it’s so hard to unplug. Once I start blogging, it’s really difficult to stop. I change up topics too once in a while, it makes writing more fun! Thank you so much for stopping by. I really appreciate your comment.

  3. I usually take time off blogging when I have scheduled for the month. I t is hard for me to shut my brain off on a normal day because of all the inspiration and stimuli around me. So, I get into new movies at the theater or go see bands or concerts playing because I love entertainment!!

  5. Blogging is never easy, especially when you have so many different things to do. Love that you’re a nurse – keep doing what you do! The ramen looks delicious! You can never go wrong with it. Oh wow, the burrito looks HUGE! I try to take half of the week off from blogging every week, which is why I am MIA Monday-Wednesday :’). This gives me time to focus on other things in my life. Thanks for sharing!
