The theaters were closed for over 18 months due to the pandemic. Last September, Broadway finally re-opened its doors and welcomed back theater fans again.
I was so delighted to hear this news because my hubby and I were planning a trip to NYC on my birthday week. Adding a bit of broadway to our itinerary made me more excited to celebrate.
Where We Stayed
Nothing fancy. We stayed in Row NYC – a clean, affordable, and decent hotel located at 8th Avenue. Though the view from our room wasn’t amazing, the hotel is only a few steps away from Broadway theaters, Times Square, and Restaurant Row.

Pre-show Dinner
There are so many dining options at Restaurant Row. I read a few reviews online and opted to try Becco – an Italian restaurant known for its pasta-tasting menu. We really enjoyed the unlimited pasta specials, the pan-seared salmon, and this mouth-watering Osso Buco.

Curtains Up!
We decided to watch Jagged Little Pill – a musical inspired by Alanis Morissette’s award-winning album. If you ever visit NYC, this is one play you should check out. The musical made me cry, laugh, and jump out of my seat. I was spellbound by the powerful voices and spectacular choreography. It is truly one of the most electrifying shows I’ve ever seen.

I’m so happy that Broadway is back and I can’t wait to see more shows in the future. We only live a few hours away from the big city, so we’re thinking of taking another trip to watch Moulin Rouge or Tina.

The food looks amazing and glad you enjoyed your stay.
I love a musical but its something we don’t do much of. It can be a little expensive in the UK and the best shows are in London, which would be a weekend away. It is something I want to do more of though.

It does get a little expensive. It’s a real treat for us to watch one of these shows.

Thank you also for reading. Restaurant Row is near the theater district. There are so many restos to choose from if you are planning to eat out before or after the show.
