Life Update And Why I Started A New Blog

Hi there!

It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post. This is actually my first post on this new site. Here’s what happened…

Life Update

Last August, I wrote about our road trip to Maine on my old blog – Life Travel Soul. I was planning to write another travel post for September, but tragedy struck our family.

My beloved father died, and I was so heartbroken. He was a pillar of strength – somebody I can always count on. He was not only a good father, but he was also my life coach, prayer warrior, and friend.

So, I went on a social media hiatus. I felt like I needed a break from everything…

Fast forward to this month, I still miss my father a lot. But, I came to accept that things happen for a reason and he’s in a better place in heaven now. I will always treasure the memories and he will forever remain in my heart.

Why I Started a New Blog

I’ve been thinking of rebranding and changing my blog name for almost a year now.

Life Travel Soul was my very first blog which started four years ago. I used to travel frequently and write about these adventures.

However, the pandemic changed a lot of things in my life. With nowhere to go, I wrote about other topics such as fashion, skincare, and makeup.  Life Travel Soul has grown and it needs a new home and a new name.

I wanted to create a blog that’s not only focused on travel. I want to talk about life, travel, fashion, beauty, and everything in between.

Finally, I got the courage to take that giant leap last week. My friend suggested a new name and Life With Fritzie was born. I migrated my old posts to the new site, learned to use some cool WordPress features, created a logo, etc.

Let me tell you, the change wasn’t easy. I was fixing one issue after another until the wee hours of the morning. I also had a difficult time sleeping because I have all these blog ideas popping up in my head. Though the transition was quite tough, it got my creative juices flowing. And, as you can see… I’m writing again!

What”s Next?

I haven’t written a lot of goals for 2023 yet. Right now, I’m just going with the flow and enjoying the creative process.

I do want to build my brand, reconnect with my followers, and engage with my audience more. An increase in blog traffic would be really nice. Of course, that means I need to be more consistent with blogging.

How about you? Have you made any changes to your blog? What are your blog goals this 2023? Share in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you so much for reading and may the new year bring you more joy and blessings ahead. Happy New Year!

Much Love,

Fritzie

This blog is dedicated to my dad, who taught me to get up after every fall and to keep going.

  3. Sorry for our loss, thinking of you and your family. A new blog and rebranding is always exciting. I want to continue to grow my blog and I will continue my health and fitness journey after my fibromyalgia diagnosis caused by a work accident. This year is focusing on looking after myself. Thank you for sharing.

    Good luck with your goals.

  5. I’m so sorry to hear about your father’s passing. My condolences to you and your family! We all take a break from blogging and if im being honest, I tend to start blogging then stop again a few months later. I won’t blog for months then when I come back I want to change everything and start fresh…I want to break that habit of mine and stick to one blog one domain for years to come.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words Suzie. I’ve taken a lot of blogging breaks myself through the years. Sometimes, we need those breaks to refocus, regroup, and find a new direction. So far, I’m enjoying this new journey and I’m hoping to stick to this domain for years to come too. Good luck on your blog and wishing you much success ahead!
