Gratitude lifts our eyes off the things we lack so we might see the blessings we possess. – Max Lucado
Thanksgiving was celebrated differently this year in a lot of households. Our families are not here in the US, so we usually go to our friend’s house to celebrate this holiday. However, the annual Thanksgiving Party at her house was canceled due to the pandemic. So, we decided to prepare a nice dinner for Just the Two of Us.
My hubby pan-fried a big slab of sirloin steak and topped it with a dollop of garlic butter. He also made some creamy corn soup and steamed asparagus for sides. I was in charge of dessert. But, since I’m not really an expert when it comes to baking… I just ordered a delicious pecan pie!
We each had a glass of cabernet sauvignon as we enjoyed our meal and talked about life, family, and our hopes for the future. After dinner, we wanted to document our lovely evening, so he set-up his camera, and we had so much fun doing this mini photo shoot.
All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go!!!
But that’s OK. My hubby and I decided to wear something nice. After all, it’s Thanksgiving Day. Though we’re not with our friends and families, we are still so thankful for the blessings in our life.
Sharing with you a list of some of the things I’m grateful for at this very moment…
- Life
- My hubby
- A roof over our head
- Good health
- A job
- Family
- Friends
- Music (currently listening to Bruno Mars)
- Tea & Pecan Pie (can’t stop myself from eating this yummy pie)
- My blog, my readers, the blogosphere

It is great that you still got to celebrate Thanksgiving within your household. The pandemic made it harder for families to really gather with extended members and such. I am happy that you made the most out of it with the cure photoshoot!! I am also glad that you found reasons to be thankful for. Hard these days but focus on the bigger picture :). I am grateful that everyone I personally know is safe from the virus, either recovered or living well. Happy Thanksgiving!

We always try to take pictures of our Thanksgiving, so I love that you did a mini photo shoot! Photos give us so many memories.
I also love that you made the most of the holiday; sirloin with garlic butter and those creamy sides sounds delicious! We had a more traditional meal with the turkey and just my family.
This year I am also definitely thankful for all the new blogger friends I have met too. š

I tried roasting a turkey for Thanksgiving a few years ago, and it was a disaster. Haha… my friend brought us some turkey today. So, we’ll have a post-thanksgiving turkey dinner tonight. I am also thankful for all the blogger friends… and you’re one of them. I really appreciate all the likes, comments, and support š
